Enhancing Haircut Shapes with Movement and Texture
OVERDIRECTION
Overdirection is a cutting technique performed on dry hair by elevating horizontal sections up 180 degrees. This allows the weight line to drop out while preserving the core shape of the haircut. By manipulating the sections and angles of your fingers and adjusting the length of the layers, you can create a variety of shapes. This technique adds movement and removes weight and add movement on top of the weight line, offering versatility to achieve different looks, from structured yet textured lobs and bobs to shags with a ton of movement, resulting in a natural and fluid appearance
