Rushing into the salon with a Starbucks cup in hand, the client arrives flustered, clearly aware that she’s running late. Her hair, already sporting grown-out highlights from a previous appointment, shows signs of needing a refresh, especially around her face where the roots are more noticeable. Apologizing for the delay, she explains how her morning spiraled out of control, but she’s still hoping to squeeze in a quick touch-up. With only a limited window of time left, she’s eager to brighten up her look but worried about what can realistically be achieved in the short time available. As she settles into the chair, the stylist reassures her that even with the time crunch, they can still focus on key areas to make the most impact.

With the client arriving late, Starbucks in hand, and only a short window for her appointment, the stylist quickly resorts to the "ISSUE" approach to make the most of the time available.

• Identify the primary concern: her existing highlights are grown out, particularly around her face, where the roots are more noticeable. 

• Solution: Focus on refreshing the face frame, which will have the most impact in the limited time. 

• Schedule: Start immediately because certain things won't change your approach, get the details as you start. Acknowledge the time constraints but don’t dwell on them. Set clear expectations, Prioritize what’s important. Quickly get the ball rolling and focus the consultation on the partline to achieve the desired look. 

• Utilize your expertise by employing face frame foils that follow the hairline and offering three methods for the partline based on her desired look: 1) a highlight placement directly in the partline for impact, 2) a diffused veil for a softer effect, or 3) a diffused and dropped look using veiling and teasing for the most soft/natural blend. Additionally, use a pivoting technique to create natural depth in the back and push lightness to the front. 

• Execute the plan, 12 - 15 well placed foils, focusing on efficiency to give the most impact, ensuring she leaves the salon with a refreshed, flattering look, despite the time crunch.
